Happy 6 weeks!

Celebrating 6 weeks of living the good life!

Can't believe it's been 6 weeks!!  The girls are growing like crazy!!!  Every day they do something new that makes us laugh.  They are becoming more and more aware of the environment they are living in and we enjoy watching the suprised expression on their faces when they discover something "new."   We are amazed at how different they are and it's been so fun the last 6 weeks watching them change and develop into their own "personalities!"

They have started enjoying tummy time and floor time...and from the picture below..Gus enjoys it with them.  He is so protective.  Jake does well with them too..but not found of the noises and quick movements that they make.  He keeps his distance and comes in for an occasional "whisker" kiss!

Ashlee is very animated and noisy!  She is constantly making us laugh with her expressions and sounds.  She enjoys her swing and I think meal time is her favorite time!  She is very strong and has almost rolled over a few times.  Of course when she gets her casts moving...it seems to help her momentum.  (Cast update to follow in separate blog).

Brooke is quite the opposite.  She sits around observing everything quietly and patiently....waiting for her big debut moment.  While she is quiet and sweet most of the time...we have discovered that she can throw an attitude when she wants!  Her "fake" cry is the best ever .....a high pitch "wah" that makes us laugh each time.  Most recently , she has discovered that the TV has a lot of motion and lights...it's very impressive.

They are so sweet and we are so blessed ....

Ok....this is my first attempt at blogging and I am keeping this short and sweet since it's a test!

I am hoping to be able to keep this updated....at least once a week...for friends and family to follow our crazy lives.  However, as a new mother...and mother of twins at that..I make no promises!

On Jan 17th Shane and I started a new journey as "Daddy" and "Mommy!"  We were blessed with our 2 twincesses...Ashlee Lyn and Brooke Ann.   We were so lucky that I was able to carry them to our scheduled delivery date of 37 1/2 weeks and that they were big healthy girls.  Ashlee (6 lb 1 oz, 18") and Brooke (5 lb 11 oz, 18 3/4").

They girls are doing great and will post updates later...after I am sure this is working and I know what I am doing!   Shane and I are adjusting to a life of very little sleep.  It's been tough..but it is SO worth it.  We love our girls!

I am leaving you with this picture of our family....and promise to type / share more once I get the hang of this!
