They also enjoyed some sunshine and their new sunglasses and caps that they got from Mommy and Daddy.

"Put a cork in it....."

"Put a cork in it...."

Not sure this is what we meant....but it works!

NO...they are really NOT supposed to play with Mommy's corks...
but you know how well they listen at this age!

Time for a baby gate..or 2!

The girls have found the stairs and discovered the adventure..... Time for us to get a few baby gates!!

Brooke took off first...but Ashlee was right behind her.
(Don't panic...Nana was at the bottom of the stairs watching carefully...)

These are the looks I get now when I tell them "no"....

Beep Beep .. Honk Honk...Moore Family heading down Aisle 9

We don't always go to Tom Thumb...but I have a feeling after the other day the girls are going to want to go there more often!  All this for a gallon of milk, apples, and a dozen eggs!!

A Castle Built for Twincesses.....

Pap took a box and created a castle fit for Twincesses!  They love playing in their box...fort...castle...secret hideout...etc...

New Shoes!! (And this time it's not JUST for Ashlee!)

Nana took the girls shopping a few weeks ago for NEW shoes!!  Actually...as much as I hate to admit it..it was their first pair of "real" shoes!  (They had black ones for Christmas...but those don't count..just for show!)  I know..they are a year old and I never bought them shoes...but there are some a few good reasons..or so I think.
  1. Poor Ashlee had to wear those shoes and brace 24 hrs a day for several months.....so she could not have any other shoes.  Now she only wears them at night!
  2. I mean REALLY...they weren't walking...so did they REALLY need shoes???  I figured they would just get in the way of them crawling and standing.
  3. Ashlee's feet are tiny and wide.  Brooke's feet are long and skinny.  Makes it hard to find "matching" shoes.

So..the journey began.  First stop Stride Rite..!!  Took us 15 minutes tops and we walked out with 2 pairs of new shoes that both Nana and the girls loved!!  I loved that they came in wide widths and they could get the same pair.

The shoes....aren't they super cute!

Brooke at the shoe store...trying them out.

Ashlee was pumped there was not a bar between them!!

Goofy Girls!

*** WARNING ***
The following pictures contain CRAZY one year olds....being silly and goofy!

I just love watching and listening to the girls play.  MOST of the time they play really well together...of course there is the occasional fight, tears, and squeals...but all-in-all...they really enjoy each other.  Hearing them communicate (if you call it that) to each other and their giggles really just warms my heart.  It's always hard to capture the moment on film...because as soon as they usually see me or I get up to get my camera...they quit!  Having a camera phone has helped me capture some goofy girl moments recently.  The quality is not as good..but you can get the jest....

The girls had the toy below as infants...for "tummy time."  They still enjoy playing with it.  They have discovered they can "hide" under it and look thru the mesh hole at us.  They think they are still hidden...it's quite comical!

Ashlee hiding...
A closer veiw of her in "hiding!"  Can't see her can you??

Here I am Mommy!!!

Brooke loves to PUSH things.  Anything.  Chairs, boxes, etc.  I got them these lil' animals with wheels and she pushes them and laughs.  It's the simple things that are so thrilling.  We should all learn this lesson.

This is one of my favorites.  She has BOTH of them in her hands and is just squealing with joy!!

A trip to Cabela's makes everyone happy...

Last Friday evening we decide to venture out to Cabela's in the snow/ice.  It's only about 7 miles from our house...and it was a chance to get out.  The girls always enjoy getting out and they like all the animal mounts.  We also stopped at Chili's on the way home....where the girls entertained each other with "baby wipe peek-a-boo!"

Ashlee and Brooke's FIRST Masterpieces...

I have to brave any sort of "art" project with the kiddos...I can just imagine me trying to contain two 1 year olds with finger paint.  The other day I was cleaning and found a coloring book and some crayons.  I decided to let them try.  Ashlee was not too into it...really just wanted to EAT the crayons.  Brooke liked to just tap the crayons on the paper and make dots...and she completed her art work 2 handed.  I did help color a little of their pictures...so they could understand what they were supposed to be doing!

OF COURSE these are displayed with pride on the fridge and I am sure will be framed.

Enjoying the sunshine before the storm....

Before the snow/ice hit the girls enjoyed a ride around the place in their new wagon that they got with a Christmas gift card from Poppy Cows and Granny (Thanks Again!!).

The dogs also were able to burn off some energy playing ball!

Ice / Snow Week Feb 2011

Wow...what a crazy week the first week of Feb 2011 was!!  Hit by 2-3 inces of sleet/ice early in the week...and then 5-6 inces of snow later in the week!!  The weekend before was 70 degrees and sunny.. ONLY in Texas!!

We took the girls out in the snow for a few minutes after the sun came out and it warmed up.
I took their mittens off so they could get the true sensation of the snow...and to see their reaction.

Ashlee was not too sure what to think.  I think she was just happy to be outside in the sunshine!

Brooke thought it was cool at first...until the "tingle/burn" of the cold hit her nerves!  Then the fun was over!

Gus LOVED it of course.  He was rolling around and burying his head in it.

Jake thought it was fun...but it was belly high on the poor guy and he got cold fast!
He learned to run and play in the tire ruts.

I thought the house looked beautiful...all nice and white!

We had some pretty long icicles in some places..

The pond almost froze up completely.  There was just a tiny spot thawed....that the ducks went round and round in!  It was kind of funny watching them work it to keep it thawed.  We laughed at them coming in to land and skidding on the ice!  We had a few geese stay over and spend the night on the ice.  Makes my belly cold thinking about it.

Jake --- walks on water!  Don't worry...we did not let him step out on it far!
I told Shane if the dogs fell thru...he was going to be VERY cold going to get them!!

The fish feeder was not doing so good....I think all our tilapia have kicked the bucket!

Again...only in our Great State of TEXAS!

Brooke's Basket Turnover....

One of Brooke's favorite things to do is climb IN her toy basket.  I was going to capture her playing in it on film one day...wrong day to capture it...as led to "boo-boo" for Brooke.

Here I go...climbing into the basket...

Mommy was trying to warn me that I was going to fall.....but I didn't listen.
(Notice that bunny is under the basket...causing it to be "off balance" just enough.)

OH NO Mommy...I am falling backwards...
(I know it's not funny..but I really was amazed I caught the actual fall on film and her face cracks me up!)

Brooke survived the fall..with just a little boo-boo on her bottom lip...
which you have to look VERY closely at to find!
Did she learn her lesson...of course not!  It's still one of her favorite things to do.
